Our private pottery parties are designed to be easy to organise and enjoyable from start to finish.
No experience is needed. Your group will be guided through a creative clay project in a friendly, supportive studio environment. Everyone gets the joy of making something with their hands — and the bonus of collecting their finished ceramic piece once it has been dried, fired and finished.

The Hand-Building Party
Best for: birthdays, baby showers, kids parties and relaxed gatherings
Capacity: Minimum 6 people up to 16 people
Pricing: $720 minimum 6 guests +$120 per additional guest.
Our most popular private party option. Your group will be guided through a complete hand-building project from start to finish. It is creative, tactile, beginner-friendly and ideal for mixed experience levels. Choose your project:

Kids Party
Best for: birthdays, kids parties (aged 8-16)
Capacity: Minimum 6 kids up to 16 kids
Pricing: $390 minimum 6 kids, $65 per additional kid.

Pinch pots Turn a pinch pot into mug, bowl, or animal sculptures then add colour with special underglaze paints.

The Mini-Wheel Experience
Best for: hen's parties, girls’ nights and groups wanting something playful
Capacity: Minimum 6 people up to 12 people
Pricing: $840 minimum 6 guests, $140 per addtional guest.

Our mini-wheel pottery party is fast-paced, hilarious and surprisingly satisfying.
Your group will try miniature pottery wheels and create adorable small-scale pieces without the pressure of a full-sized pottery wheel.
It is fun, social and perfect for groups who want a creative experience that feels different from the usual dinner, drinks or activity night.

CATERING PACKAGE: $30PP
We can organise a seasonal grazing-style spread of sweet and savoury treats through local Upper Hutt suppliers. Please let us know about allergies or dietary requirements when enquiring.
BYO ALCOHOL: 18+ ONLY
Adult groups are welcome to bring their own alcoholic drinks. Glassware is available at the studio. Guests must drink responsibly so the studio stays safe, relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.
COMPLIMENTARY TEA & COFFEE
The kettle is always on. Tea, herbal tea and coffee are available for private bookings.
School & Education Bookings
Bring clay into your learning program with a hands-on school pottery session at The Potters’ Roost.
We offer small group school sessions designed to support creativity, sensory learning and curriculum-linked exploration. Students can work with clay in a calm, secure studio setting with focused guidance and room to create.
Schools Rate: $20 per student
Group Size: Up to 10 students
Includes: clay, tools, glazes and two kiln firings
